The Apple M1 Pro 8-Core is a System on a Chip (SoC) from Apple that is found in the late 2021 MacBook Pro 14 and 16-inch models. When fully loading the CPU and GPU cores, the chip uses up to 89 Watt and the CPU part is limited to 25 Watt.Īpple M1 Pro 8-Core ► remove from comparison The power consumption of the CPU part is up to 36 Watt according to powermetrics. The M2 Max is manufactured in 5 nm at TSMC (second generation) and integrates 40 billion transistors. The integrated graphics card in the M1 Max offers a 30-core GPU or a GPU with all 38 cores.įurthermore, the SoC integrates a fast 16 core neural engine (faster than M1 Max), a secure enclave (e.g., for encryption), a unified memory architecture, Thunderbolt 4 controller, an ISP, and media de- and encoders (including ProRes). The CPU performance should be quite similar to the M2 Pro as only the higher memory bandwidth and bigger 元 cache could make a difference for some workloads. The unified memory (32, 64, or 96 GB LPDDR5-6400) next to the chip is connected by a 512 Bit memory controller (400 GB/s bandwidth) and can be used by the GPU and CPU. CPU and GPU can both use the 49 MB SLC (System Level Cache). The four efficiency cores (codename Blizzard) are a lot smaller and offer only 128 KB instruction cache, 64 KB data cache, and 4 MB shared cache. The big cores (codename Avalanche) offer 192 KB instruction cache, 128 KB data cache, and 36 MB shared L2 cache (up from 24 MB in the M1 Pro). The E-cores clock with up to 3.4 GHz, the P-Cores up to 3.7 GHz (mostly 3.3 GHz in multi-threaded workloads and 3.4 GHz in single threaded). It offers all 12 CPU cores available in the chip divided in eight performance cores (P-cores) and four power-efficiency cores (E-cores). The Apple M2 Max is a System on a Chip (SoC) from Apple that is found in the early 2023 MacBook Pro 14 and 16-inch models. The CPU is built with a further improved 10nm SuperFin process at Intel (called Intel 7). The N95 has a base power consumption of 12 W (compared to the 6 W of the N100) and is therefore well suited for thin and light systems. Due to the single channel memory, low clock speeds, and low shader count, the gaming performance of the iGPU is very limited. The integrated graphics adapter is based on the Xe-architecture and offers only 16 of the 32 EUs (Execution Units) operating at only 1200 MHz. External chips can be connected via PCIe Gen3 x9 (via the PCH). Furthermore, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 are partly integrated (but no Thunderbolt). The chip also supports Quick Sync and AV1 decoding (most likely same engine as in Alder Lake). The Alder Lake-N chips only support single channel memory with up to DDR5-4800, DDR4-3200 or LPDDR5-4800. The Intel Processor N200 offers the same core count, but 300 MHz a higher Boost clock. The performance is clearly lower than the Core i3-N300 and N305 due to the reduced core count. Compared to the similar Processor N100, the N95 offers a slightly higher TDP and therefore maybe a slightly improved sustained performance. The performance of the E-cores should be similar to old Skylake cores (compare to the Core i7-6700HQ). The chip does not support HyperThreading and clocks with up to 3.4 GHz. It was announced in early 2023 and offers no performance cores and 4 of the 8 efficient cores (E-cores, Gracemont architecture). The Intel Processor N95 is an entry-level mobile CPU for thin and light laptops from the Alder Lake-N series. It's useful when you want to keep backups of your files elsewhere, just in case your computer goes down.Intel Processor N95 ► remove from comparison This includes things like Google Drive, as well as Syncthing and Resilio Sync. What Is File Synchronization?īasically, it's just a way of keeping a set of files updated between two or more devices. However, for the sake of fairness, it'll only look at the free version of Resilio Sync. Which solution works best for you depends on a number of factors, which will be covered here. In comparison, Syncthing is open source - not only can you contribute to its development by posting suggestions, but the guts of it are available online for all to see and improve. Resilio Sync is the proprietary child of Resilio Inc., which was created by the BitTorrent company to help focus its efforts better. This makes set up very easy, at the cost of leveraging your own computers rather than another person's. Instead, these apps work on a peer-to-peer basis, transferring files between the devices you want without a middleman ( such as Dropbox).
